Simon Taylor takes Bronze for GB!

This weekend (18-19th July) hosted the 2015 Schluchsee ETU TNatura Cross Triathlon European Championships. Brighton Tri Club athlete, Simon Taylor, ventured to Germany to represent GB in his age group, M50-54.

Cross Triathhlon is a discipline which combines a swim, a mountain bike segment and a cross-country run. TNatura at Schluchsee is a great challenge and an arduous competition with discipline distances of 1.5km, 30km & 10km!

The course begins in the dammed lake of Schluchsee, continues inside the forest in an ambitious and varied up-and-downhill route, and finally becomes more compelling when the athletes will run along the hidden and fascinating trails of the black forest. - TNatura, Race Course

Simon completed the strenuous course in an impressive time of 03:19:33, finishing 3rd place in his age group and collecting a bronze medal for Great Britain.

I am proud to have won a Bronze medal for GB in the German mountains. The race was really tough and all disciplines were long. I gave my all on the bike, coming to T2 in 2nd place but had very little in the tank for the extra difficult four lap run course. Thank you to everyone for your support. - Simon Taylor

Congratulations Simon! You continue to inspire us all at Brighton Tri Club.
