It all started when…

At a public gathering in a local coffee shop on 26th April 2013, the four founder members (above L-R), Dave Powell, Matt Honey, Graeme Cox, and Mal Burden, launched club membership and the club as we now know it was born.

Ten years on, Brighton Tri Club is now proud to be represented by over 200 members, from novices ‘Tri-ing’ for the first time to seasoned athletes representing their country in European and World Age-Group championships.

During this time, the club has developed a packed weekly schedule of coached training sessions and a variety of events for its members. In addition, it has organised a number of open-to-public events, including the annual Steyning Kids’ Triathlon, the aquathlon series Go-Tri Pells Pool, and charity fundraising sea swims as part of the Paddle Round the Pier Festival.

All of this would not be possible without the continued energy and support from the committee, the coaching team, the event volunteers, and the entire membership – our thanks to you all!

We have some fabulous limited edition casual t-shirts (£10) and mugs (£5) to celebrate this milestone! Both have our special 10th-anniversary logo designed by club member Tom Sanderson and chosen by you at the Christmas party. These are now available to order here:

Feel free to order as many as you like. Mugs are in stock, but please note that we only have limited t-shirts left.

Brighton Tri Club has always welcomed new members, so spread the word and let us welcome those who join us for the next 10 years 😊.

If you would like to volunteer and help keep the club going in the future, please speak to any of the committee members or coaches who will help you get involved.

Happy 10th anniversary!

From your Brighton Tri Club Committee
